Web design and development services, built on the platform your business actually needs.
( What we build )
Six platforms, one recommendation, no platform to sell you.
American Web Guild designs and builds websites on six platforms — Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix Studio and fully custom code — and the first job on every project is choosing the right one. We have no platform to sell, so the recommendation comes from your business: what the site has to do, who will edit it, what it should cost to run, and whether you ever want to move it. Every build is a fixed published price, designed from scratch, live in 14 days for a standard site, and yours outright at launch. The homepage concept is free within 72 hours, and you never have to take a call to get it.
One team in Sacramento, clients in all 50 states — every build is remote, fixed-price and in writing.

PICK A PLATFORM
Every page below is written from that platform's real specifics — what gets built, what it costs to run, when we would send you elsewhere.
- Custom CodeFrom $349
Custom Web Development
Custom web development means a site written for your business rather than assembled from a theme: the pages, the data model and the integrations are designed around what the site has to do.
- ShopifyFrom $600
Shopify Development
Shopify development is the design and build of a store on Shopify's hosted platform: a theme designed for your products, the sections your merchandising needs, the apps that are worth their monthly fee and the ones that are not.
- WordPressFrom $349
WordPress Development
WordPress development, done properly, is a custom theme written for your content — not a premium theme with a page builder layered on top.
- WebflowFrom $349
Webflow Development
Webflow development is designing a site and building it visually in Webflow's Designer, with the content modelled as CMS collections and the motion built as native interactions — so the result is a custom site your marketing team can edit without touching the design.
- SquarespaceFrom $349
Squarespace Web Design
Squarespace web design is designing a site from scratch and then building it inside Squarespace 7.1 — Fluid Engine layouts, custom CSS and code injection — so the result does not look like a template even though it runs on one of the simplest platforms to maintain.
- Wix StudioFrom $349
Wix Website Design
Wix website design, as we do it, is a site designed from scratch and built in Wix Studio — the professional editor with real breakpoints, grid-based sections and a CMS — rather than a Wix template with your logo dropped in.
( Which one )
The decision, in one table.
| You need… | Pick… | Because… |
|---|---|---|
| A marketing site your team edits weekly, with motion and a real CMS | Webflow Development | Visual editor with guardrails, structured collections, no plugins to maintain. |
| A blog-driven site with many authors and no platform fee | WordPress Development | The strongest publishing CMS, open-source, on hosting you own. |
| A store of any size that has to sell this month | Shopify Development | Checkout, payments, tax and the app ecosystem handled; you manage products. |
| A store alongside a lot of content, or no monthly platform fee | WordPress Development | WooCommerce on a lean theme — one admin for articles and products. |
| A polished small-business site with a booking button and the lowest upkeep | Squarespace Web Design | Easiest editor, hosting and SSL handled, custom CSS makes it yours. |
| Bookings, a small shop and a gentle editor from one vendor | Wix Website Design | Wix Studio with Bookings and Stores built in; we design it to convert. |
| A calculator, portal, dashboard or integration no plugin provides | Custom Web Development | Written for the job, fast, secure and owned outright — the code is in your repo. |
| To leave a platform you have outgrown without losing rankings | Custom Web Development | Or WordPress or Webflow — we migrate the content, map every URL, and say which fits. |
( How It Works )

- Day 4–10Build. Remaining pages designed, copy written, everything coded. One shared link, updated live, so you're never waiting on an email.
- Day 11–14Review & launch. Two rounds of revisions, testing across devices, analytics installed, then live. You get the walkthrough video the same day.

PLATFORMS, EXPLAINED
It depends on three things: what the site has to do, who will edit it, and whether you want to own the code. Stores go on Shopify. Content-heavy sites go on WordPress. Marketing sites edited by marketers go on Webflow. Small sites edited by owners go on Squarespace or Wix Studio. Anything with real logic — calculators, portals, dashboards — is custom code. We recommend one in the brief and explain why in a paragraph.
No. The website tiers are $349, $689 and $1,299 for three, ten and fifteen pages on any platform, and the e-commerce tiers are $600, $1,394 and $3,694 for stores. App-grade custom work is quoted above those as a fixed price. The platform's own subscription, if it has one, is billed to you by the platform, and we list it in the quote. All tiers are on the pricing page.
No. For a brochure site a platform is cheaper to build, cheaper to run and easier to edit. Custom code wins when the site has to do something platforms cannot, when speed is a business number, or when you want to own every line. Our comparison of custom versus Squarespace is honest about where each wins.
Yes — it is a large part of what we do. Content is exported or rebuilt, the design is redone on the new platform, every old URL is mapped to a new one with a 301 redirect, and the domain moves last. Rankings fluctuate for a few weeks and usually land ahead because the new site is faster. Each platform page describes its own migration paths.
You do. The platform account — the Shopify store, the Webflow workspace, the Squarespace or Wix site, the hosting for WordPress — is created under your name with billing on your card. We work as a collaborator and remove ourselves at handover. For custom code, the repository is in your account. What ownership should mean.
Fourteen days for a standard site on any of them: brief, free homepage concept within 72 hours, build, review and launch. Stores with large catalogues, migrations from another platform and custom applications run three to six weeks, and the date is written into the quote.
No. Send the brief through the contact form with your current site, if any, and what you sell. The homepage concept comes back within 72 hours with the platform recommendation and a fixed price. If you would rather talk, a 20-minute call is available, but nothing requires it.
Yours could be next.
Send your site and what you sell. Custom homepage concept back in 72 hours — free, no call required.
